A transmission filter for long-range listening. New field station in Penzance.

Broadcasting from the Edge
Broadcasting from the Edge
Cornwall’s role in global transmission — from Marconi’s early signals to deep-space listening and outward-facing ports — positions it naturally at the edge of the field. OUTERZONE operates from this boundary, where local calm meets long-range intercontinental and cosmic connection.
Now operating from a surface based field station in Penzance, OUTERZONE functions as a compact transmission device. Continuous sound is selected, accelerated, and collapsed into broadcast form — dub, deep house, and drum & bass released as coherent signal across the field.
OUTERZONE invites you to tune in, lock on, and step out of the everyday noise — entering a wider, more resonant transmission space.

OUTERZONE is a transmission filter for long-range listening.
It is not content.
It is not a playlist.
It is not designed for interruption.
OUTERZONE exists to stabilise sound over time, to allow music to unfold at its natural scale, and to create a coherent listening field in which attention can settle rather than fragment.
Everything you hear has passed through selection, sequencing, and intention. Sound is not thrown. It is placed. Not for impact, but for continuity.
The broadcast operates as a continuous field. Tracks are chosen, ordered, and released into the stream so that energy evolves rather than resets. There are no fixed packets of attention. No hourly ruptures. No artificial urgency. Time is treated as a medium, not a constraint.
This station is built for long-range listening.
Sound arrives condensed. Recorded, encoded, compressed. Potential energy stored in waveform and data. At the point of broadcast, that condensed sound is unpacked. Decoded. Expanded across time, frequency, and space. What was static becomes dimensional. What was stored becomes lived.
Playback is not reproduction. It is transformation.
As sound moves through the system — through transmission, speakers, air, and bodies — it forms a perceptual field. Rhythm becomes orientation. Bass becomes gravity. Repetition becomes stability. Variation becomes motion. Listening becomes a physical process, not a distraction.
OUTERZONE works with this process deliberately.
Dub, deep house, and drum & bass are not genres here. They are energy states. Each occupies a different relationship to time. Dub stretches space and breath. Deep house sustains orbit and drift. Drum & bass accelerates momentum and release. Together, they allow the field to modulate without collapse.
The schedule is organised as field modulation across twenty-four hours. Not a timetable of shows, but a gradual shift in density, velocity, and pressure. Four-hour windows allow sound to breathe. Selectors are given time to guide rather than impress. DJs are invited to build journeys, not moments.
There are three primary transmission states.
The first is the Sequential Field. A continuous stream of station-selected tracks, sequenced to evolve without interruption. No voice breaks. No resets. This is the baseline signal — always present, always coherent.
The second is Selector Transmission. Here, an operator takes control of the field modulation for a fixed window. These are pre-recorded compositions — long-form DJ mixes shared as complete works. They are not performances. They are not showcases of speed or technique. They are considered constructions. Best work. Refined selections. Artifacts of listening practice.
The third state is Live Transmission. Real-time broadcasts, events, gatherings, and sound system sessions. These are high-energy moments where the field condenses and intensifies. They are announced, scheduled, and archived as distinct transmissions.
OUTERZONE exists both online and in physical space. When required, the sound system emerges. Not as spectacle, but as amplification of the field. Gatherings are intentional. Locations are disclosed selectively. The signal does not shout.
Selectors and operators may work remotely. Modulation is beamed in from distributed satellites — studios, rooms, basements, kitchens, coastal edges. The field is not centralised. It is coherent.
Audio is broadcast at hi-fi grade, three hundred and twenty kilobits per second. Not for loudness. For clarity. For depth. For sustained listening without fatigue. Fidelity is not luxury. It is respect for the medium.
OUTERZONE is tuned for coherence, not noise.
Noise competes. Coherence accumulates.
This station is slow by design. Not passive. Not ambient. Slow enough for meaning to emerge. Slow enough for listeners to arrive fully. In a culture of endless refresh, OUTERZONE holds a line.
Listening here is not about consumption. It is about alignment. About letting sound organise attention rather than fracture it. About staying with something long enough for it to change you slightly.
Archive material is preserved as complete field events. Not highlights. Not edits. Extended exposure may result in time dilation. Some listeners report spatial displacement. These effects are not guaranteed.
OUTERZONE supports the idea that sound can bind. That vibration can stabilise. That rhythm can hold people when language fails. One pound of every three donated supports men’s mental health through Campaign Against Living Miserably. This is not branding. It is structural.
Music alone does not save lives. But it can create conditions where support becomes reachable.
OUTERZONE is independent. Listener-powered. Built outside algorithmic optimisation. There are no ads here. No incentive to rush. No requirement to perform. Only transmission.
If you are listening now, you are part of the field. Your presence matters. Attention is energy. Listening completes the circuit.
Stay as long as you need.
The Small Print
The Outerzone Wavefield Communication Sector exists in a state of balanced oscillation, ensuring the rational, equitable, efficient, economical and spiritally aligned conveyance of the Dub Reggae, Drum & Bass, and Deep House spectrum across all known and unknown dimensions.
All transmissions are modulated according to the principles of Yin and Yang:
heavy bass / empty space,
silence / pressure,
rewind / forward motion.
Frequency ranges are unlimited, unmeasured, and occasionally circular. Time may bend. Side effects may include nodding, levitation, and spontaneous understanding of martial arts philosophy without formal training.
Policy decisions are adopted by the Grand Operators, ratified by higher-level musical entities (commonly referred to as The Ancients of Mu-Mu), and quietly approved during dawn meditations, warehouse moments, and moments of total loss of self on the dancefloor.
Outerzone transmissions are aligned—where practical—with World Human and Transplanetary Controlling Minds, Regional Radiocommunication Conferences, and underground, grass-roots, rave-oriented Spiritual Study Groups who meet wherever speakers are stacked and the kettle still works.
By tuning in, you accept that:
- The signal may educate without warning
- The beat may strike before thought
- The body may learn before the mind
- The mind may dissolve, briefly, into waveform
Outerzone is not responsible for enlightenment, inner peace, or sudden urges to build sound systems, practice Tai Chi at 3am, or speak exclusively in riddles.
Remain centred. Stay locked.
The transmission knows where you are.
